S.P.H.I.N.X. is an acronym that has not yet been mentioned. It is an organization that was the primary adversary of the O.S.I. 20 years ago ("The Invisible Hand of Fate"). In the Pyramid Wars of 1987, the O.S.I. destroyed the real S.P.H.I.N.X. organization.
Disillusioned members of the O.S.I., including Hunter Gathers, Mile High, Shore Leave, and the plastic surgeon from Assassinanny 911 realized all the equipment was left behind by S.P.H.I.N.X. and decided to use it to take care of the mad scientists who don't register with the Guild of Calamitous Intent. In Blood of the Father, Heart of Steel they recruit Brock Samson into the fold. Their base is located on an unused section of the Venture Compound.
Adversaries include the Black Hearts, the Nazis, Dr. Schumpmaker, and any other evil organization or individual who does not submit to costumed villainy.
